I like New TV, but will not refrain from criticizing them when I see things that I don't like (like their promotion of the Qatari and Libyan regimes--they recently signed a contract to manage a new Libyan TV station). Last night, New TV invited Kamal Shatila to analyze European politics--I kid you not. Now I know that Nasserist organizations are very popular in Western Europe, but..Kamal Shatila??? Are you serious? But he offered some original insights. He said that Russia has now emerged as a superpower; that a civil war will erupt in France in one year; and that "the Zionists" were behind the student rebellion in 1968 to protest against De Gaulle's criticism of Israel. I did not know any of that, did you?
