Do you notice that when US reporters write about sexism in foreign countries they write as if the US is some gender Utopia. Take this by Dowd: " France is chauvinistic — women got the vote in 1944 and compose only a small percentage of the National Assembly..." Yet, the percentage of women in parliament in France is 12.2% while it is a mere 16.3% in the US.
