I should retitle my site, NOT the New York Times: US media love to jump on the bandwagon (I do not know which band and which wagon, but let us go along with an American cliche here) whenever groups and organizations launch economic or cultural boycott of Israel. They find that to be very uncivilized and backward, but not when launched by Israel. Just yesterday, the Israeli Ministry of Trade and Industry (or the other way round) issued an order to prevent an Arab bookshop in Hayfa from importing books published in Syria and Lebanon because they are "hostile countries." The owner of the bookshop, Salih `Abbasi, said that he had been importing books from the two countries for 20 years. Just wait. US congress may follow suit, and order the Library of Congress to stop importing books from Syria and Lebanon.
