House of Clinton and House of Saud: You know that I do not like the analysis that attributes the close US-Saudi ties to a relationship between two families (as in Michael Moore's movie) and not to a decades-long relationship that span over successive administrations. I noticed that Clinton was busy in a tete-a-tete with the new Saudi ambassador in the US during the event that he organized for his "global initiative." And if he has these brilliant ideas to solve world's problems, why did he not put them into practice in his years in office? And why did the appointment of Prince Turki as ambassador in London in the wake of Sep. 11 cause a bigger stir in the UK than in the US?
