Reporting on the sham election in Syria

It is a sham election for sure, but look at these methods of documentation by Anne Barnard: "In government-held areas, where schools were closed and state employees were warned that they must show up to vote, some said they had cast ballots largely out of fear that they would otherwise be punished."  Can you imagine editors at the Times allowing such language and methods of journalism in covering Israel?
