This story is rather hilarious: the new president of AUB has been in office for some weeks and the writer of this piece declares him a great success story. Worse than that, he attributes all the changes that were enacted at AUB before him (like tenure for the faculty) as his achievements. But he also tells you why it is a good thing that AUB students are depressive of any political rights of expression: "Speaker’s Corner is once again on hiatus, and students said that faculty members tell them it’s better this way, since the young don’t yet have the “maturity” to discuss sensitive political matters."
