Hugh Naylor of the Washington Post on why Syrian rebel bombings are harmless, really

"The latest round of violence appears to have been triggered by rebel groups in the area firing an unusually intense salvo of mortars at government-held areas of the capital. State media said those attacks killed three people and wounded 30."  You can tell he means: attacks killed "only three people and wounded only 30.  Naylor estimates that over four years, Syrian rebels have not killed more than three people according to his citation of "state media".    Of course, according to Hugh Naylor, only terrorists and shabbihah reside in "government-held areas" of the capital, while Syrian rebel-held areas only contain civilians. This is the formula of Washington Post coverage of the Syrian conflict.
