The sect of the regime

This has to be blamed on US media for sure: the notion that the Alawite sect is the "sect of Bashshar Al-Asad".  To basically conflate the sect with the ruler is the product of US sectarian analysis of Syrian politics.  Imagine if this was applied to a ruler who is not Alawite--imagine if the ruler is Jewish and imagine people conflating the religion with the ruler. Not this disgusting practice is spread into Arab oil and gas media whereby people simply refer to the Alawite sect as "the sect of the regime".  This is an official preparation for genocide when the time comes.
