Vulgar sexism and the "liberal" Syrian opposition

A Syrian beauty queen expressed terrible views in support of Bashshar Al-Asad and Gen. Sisi. So this Syrian "liberal" intellectual, Yassin Al-Hajj Saleh, mocked her appearance (not her statements--mind you) and said that she is ugly and that her competitor in the beauty pageant was none other than Yasser Arafat.  More than a thousand fans of this liberal and sensitive version of the Syrian opposition liked his mocking the appearance of this woman.  This kind of opposition will liberate Syrian women very much along the lines of the liberation of women by House of Saud.
