Obama and the sectarian rhetoric of the Sunni-Shi`ite war: interview with Thomas Friedman

Obama said: "You don’t need to be anti-Semitic or anti-Israel or anti-Sunni".  I will not argue with the contention that all of Iran is "anti-Semitic" but I will focus a bit on the anti-Sunni charge.  I know that all of the Middle East advisers of Obama (except one) are Zionist militants who really are not that steeped in Middle East studies and who rely in their judgment about Arab and Iranian rhetoric on either MEMRI or on English language Saudi media. But I defy you to find one trace of anti-Sunni rhetoric in either Iranian regime or even Syrian regime media, as you will find the avalanche of anti-Shi`ite rhetoric and hate in Saudi and Qatari media. There isn't even a contest there.  But this is a claim made in Saudi media and is repeated by Zionist media in the US.

PS This is without in any way denying that the Iranian regime is sectarian in its ideology and ruling doctrine.
