One of the great political signs of maturity among Arabs is the extent to which they disregard the results of Israeli elections. In my youth, Arafat and his PLO--largely under the influence of "Israel expert", Abu Mazen--used to pin so much hopes on the victory of Labor Party. The PLO office in Paris used to open champagne bottles to celebrate Labor Party victories, no matter how small. Now, Arabs have reached a consensus that it does not matter who win and that all sides in Israel share the racism, criminality and irredentism of the Likud. There are no illusions.
