"Far too many people see Israel as an apartheid state and blame the people of an entire religion for what, in truth, are internal national-policy decisions." I agree with Douglas on the point that our stance against the state of Israel, including our rejection of the state, should in no way allow one to hold any negative views of Jews qua Jews, or to harbor any ill feelings toward the Jewish religion or people. It is as absurd as hating Islam and Muslims for the crimes of the Saudi regime. Islam and Judaism are not responsible for the crimes of both regimes. And it is our obligation in the pro-Palestine camp to insist on excluding any anti-Semite from our midst. Of course, Douglas is totally wrong in describing our hostility to Israel as "irrational". The rational thing is to reject Zionism in all of its forms.
