A great Egyptian academic and writer, Radwa `Ashur, has died. It made me very sad. I met her during our participation together in a conference in Berlin a few years ago. She left a great mark on me. I loved her deeply. She is one of those rare people in life who leave a great impression even if you meet them once in your life. I made sure that she knew how much I loved her. She is a most interesting person and you would love to listen to her or to read her. I will never forget her account about life in exile during Sadat's years and her receiving the news about Sadat's assassination. My sincere condolences to her husband, Murid, and her son, Tamim.
