US Policy in Syria

This will not be said publicly and openly, but does anyone have doubts that the offensive by ISIS in Iraq will restrain and limit the Congressional appetite for more generous military aid to the Syrian armed groups?  They will be lucky if they get more than rice and beans (provided they are not dropped over their heads in gigantic packages as happened in Afghanistan where it caused the death of scores of civilians).  This, however, will also mean that the appetite for Qatari, Saudi, and UAE regimes will increase toward more arming of ISIS and other like-minded groups.  You have to see the coverage of Arab oil and gas media to understand: the coverage is rather festive and quite openly nostalgic for Saddam.
