"Caesar" and his photographs

I don't need to see evidence to know that the Syrian regime is a savage regime that has shown no mercy toward its domestic opponents and that has shown mercy and forgiveness toward Israel.  There is no question that the regime has been torturing and killing Syrian opponents since Hafidh Al-Asad came to power. But why would the regime keep evidence of such crimes when the Ba`thist regimes have been known to not leave paper trail of their blood?  Having said this, I don't know whether the photographs of Caesar are real or not. But I sure hope that the crimes of the regime and of its armed opponents are shown to the world and that those responsible are brought to justice (unless that justice is run in a kangaroo court by the US and its allies as in the Hariri tribunal in the Hague).
