The blond Roma

From Richard:  "From an old column by Gary Younge that describes the pervasive discrimination against the Roma:


" . . . Many, particularly in eastern Europe, have the skin tone of an Indian or a Sri Lankan - others, like two blond-haired children at the settlement in Paks, are functionally white. Some in the Roma community even dispute that India is the common homeland."

Amazing that media coverage to date has assumed that there is no way that the girl can be Roma.
