Security breach Scandal at AUB?

I am learning of a big scandal at AUB: about an intelligence operation (not run by China or Russia) to steal on regular basis (physically steal) all data from campus (belonging to staff, students, and faculty).  The Americans in the administration want to suppress the news of this.
