Saudi Arabia and the UNSC

Usually, if an undemocratic country that is opposed to the US is selected to serve in the UN Security Council American commentators express outrage and huff and puff.  They indicate that such a country that violates human rights does not deserve to be at the UN.  Now, Western countries are begging Saudi Arabia to serve a term at the Security Council.  And Saudi government is being coy, insisting on "reforms" at the UN. Those Saudi reforms include: 1) the replacing voting with tribal acclamation. 2) preventing women from entering the UN building without a guardian. 3) instituting beheading as a punishment for no-show. 4) Making bribery official in all UN agencies. 5) Making pornography mainstream in all UN TV screens.  6) Make the criterion for the selection of the UN secretary-general hereditary.
