Go to Apartheid South Africa and smile: Roger Cohen is smiling at the racism of Israel

"Israel is a miracle of innovation and development. Tel Aviv, at once sensual and vibrant, is a boom town. Go there and smile."  This is like saying "go to Johannesburg under the apartheid regime and smile, or go to Berlin under the Nazis and smile.  And people did write in praise of the vibrancy and advancement of Johannesburg (under apartheid) and Berlin (under Nazi rule).
