Another death of an Asian domestic worker in Lebanon: another silence from the Lebanese state and HRW

I took this picture from my TV screen, during the news broadcast of New TV yesterday.  Another domestic worker dies in Lebanon: she was trying to escape through a rope from the balcony of the apartment where worked, and she fell and died.  This happened only a day after another tragedy: when a Sri Lankan maid was seen trying to jump from the balcony of the apartment where she worked. Neighbors and police came and persuaded her to halt her attempt. She explained that her employer leaves her for long duration locked up and without food. Neighbors reported that the previous maid of the same employer also tried to kill herself.  Human Rights Watch does not bother with such trivialities if it was pressed to issue a statement it is likely to blame the Syrian regime for their plight.
