So yesterday the NSA director assured Congress that the spying on Americans thwarted what he termed "potential terrorist events". What an expression. Potential terrorist events. I thought to myself: I am sure that such potential events include such scenarios:
1) An Arab fuming on the phone that he is late for an appointment'
2) An Arab-American sounding angry after failing an exam.
3) An Arab expressing strong detestation for Israel.
4) An Arab-American complaining that his/her pizza has arrived late.
I am sure by NSA standards all those qualify as "potential terrorist events".
