When I lived in DC, the Wilson Center was a semi-serious outfit and they would bring scholars from around the world to speak on foreign relations. In recent years, it has become a joke, really. They invite Arab ministers of repressive states to speak on "the Arab spring". Or my favorite: they invite the Hariri politician, Fu'ad Sanyurah (have you seen him while kissing shoulders of Saudi king and princes?) to speak about the aspirations of the Arab youth. I am not making this up. It has become quite funny and amusing to me. Did Nichols Van Dam quit?
