"Tunisia may become the first sovereign state to include another nation in its constitution. The final draft of the preamble to the constitution declares that Tunisia seeks to, “serve justice for all those oppressed, and to grant individuals the right to determine their fates, and for the movements for rightful liberation, at the forefront of which is the liberation of Palestine…” This Palestine clause, which was made public on June 4 and has received a high level of public response, was debated among politicians during its adoption by the committee of the Constituent Assembly tasked with writing the preamble."
