Bashshar and Qatar

From Akram, the chief Angry Arab correspondent in Syria:  "Today, Al-Akbar English published a piece of Jean Aziz telling what seems to be the Syrian account on the meeting between the Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad and the UN envoy Kofi Annan. And here is the last part of this piece:
......
The formal meeting concluded, but there was still time for some closing remarks. Getting ready to leave, Annan asked his host, “How long do you think this crisis will continue?”
“As long as the [...] regime funds it,” Assad replied. But Annan was not surprised by the answer. “Do you think they are behind all the funding?” he inquired.
.......
Al-Assad was meaning Qatar. But it's clear that he doesn't even dare to say it publicly even through an untraceable story. This man misses the smell of the gulf oil and, with no doubt, dreams the good old days could be back."
