Saudi princes in the army

"Historically, the royal/noble classes in many empires/countries accommodated large numbers of offspring by sending them into the military. A military can absorb an unlimited numbers of princes and nobles, and it not only keeps them gainfully employed but also trains and disciplines them, which creates a pool of tough and disciplined potential rulers. It also keeps them all under some form of central control, preventing them from being let loose all over the place, with the capacity to damage the royal brand and franchise with their deeds or misdeeds.  The military could be a great solution to managing the youth of Al Saud going forward. A young royal could be told: “If you want to keep your title and privileges, then you have to serve in the military; but if you just want a cushy job or want to dabble in business, then give up your title and right to succession, along with any associated benefits and expectations.”"  Of course, it won't work.  Who would dare order a Saudi prince in the Saudi armed forces?  Also, we have had Saudi princes in the armed forces: Prince Bandar and Prince Khalid (among others): and they have only used their service to obtain enormous bribes on arms deals.  As long as the princes enjoy unfair political birth privileges, the step would be meaningless, dear Ali.  But if you want solutions, I have one: how about sending all Saudi princes to the gallows?  That would really solve the problem, once and for all.
