My suspicions that the new leftist Al-Yasariyyah news channel will be pro-Syrian regime have been confirmed. It seems that Qadri Jamil (who broke off from Khalid Bakdash's party) will play a leading role. I also learned that the Russian government wants Qadri to serve as prime minister or as a key minister in a "national unity" government. But the credentials of Jamil as opposition figure are highly (and rightly) questioned by most in the Syrian opposition. He is seen as too close to the regime. I see him regularly on Syrian regime channels.
