Syria and Saudi Arabia

The reactions of Western government of Saudi propaganda outlets towards repression in Syria is driven by the bad relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia.  I mean, imagine if the relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia were excellent, and imagine for a second if Syria called on Saudi Arabia to send troops and tanks--as they did in Bahrain--to help the regime.  First, Western governments would have supported such act, and of course, Saudi liberal and non-liberal propagandists would have applauded the killings by the regime and consider it an act for the protection of rights.  As we say in Lebanon, go play in the garden.
