During my college years at AUB, a few comrades of mine and I would carry beer cans and drink on campus during the month of Ramadan to provoke the religious nuts on campus. Those were the days. I never understood why people who want to fast expect others to share their experience by abstaining publicly from eating and drinking. What gives?? I am carrying 4 chicken as I write those words although I am a vegetarian. To expect non-fasters to not eat publicly show a weak resolve and discipline on those who fast: that they cant stand the temptation. This is like veiling: that those men can't handle the temptation so they cover up women. Leave me alone and go fly a kite or eat a chicken if you are hungry.
