Pro-Bashshar Rally

The footage from Sahat Al-Umawiyyin in Damascus now is clear: this is one massive show of support for the regime.  I don't know how many they were: but they were hundreds of thousands.  I don't think it was a million as NBN TV reported but exaggerations about the size of crowds is a lie perfected by the Hariri media.  I report about the rally because the Syrian regime media ignore unfavorable facts, and the Western and (Saudi and Qatari) Arab media also ignore unfavorable facts.  The Syrian situation may now be affected by manipulation by the regime.  I must say that the opposition meeting in Istanbul may have helped the regime: not only because it was dominated by the Ikhwan (who funded it, my sources say)--I heard one speaker there speak about Jihad and he did not mean struggle against Israel.  And Haytham Al-Malih, the secular face of the meeting, appeared on Al-Arabiyya TV (news station of King Fahd's brother-in-law) and bluntly said that they could not agree because they fought over "chairs" (a references to posts).   Part of the manipulation of the regime is the meeting held today in Syria as "the first secular conference".  The lousy Syrian regime just remembered secularism?  They avoided secularism all those years, and settled on manipulating religion for their end.
