Syrian government and its supports arranged for an ugly show of a giant flag in Damascus today. It was supposed to be a million-person rally. The show is borrowed from the grotesque and vulgar festivities of March 14 in Lebanon. Pro-Syrian media are talking about the massive crowd and about "hundreds of thousands" of people. I looked at the images carefully, and compared images. I can say it was an utter failure. The turnout was not massive at all. I would say it did not reach 50,000. Wait. I know what Syrian propagandist, Rim Haddad would say: she would say that crowds did not turn out because they were visiting their relatives in Turkey.
