I think it was in an article by Anthony Shadid a few days ago that I read something along the lines that Mubarak lacked the charisma of Nasser and Sadat. And I thought: charisma of Sadat? Sadat had the charisma of Sa`d Hariri. Of course, puppets of Israel are extremely charismatic in Tel Aviv but that does not count. And no one compared the charisma of Nasser with that of Sadat. Sadat lived with the reputation of a clown (even in the US prior to visiting Israel--read the Power and Principle by Z. Brezezinki), and died with the reputation of a buffoon. His funeral was the least popular: Nahhas Pasha had a bigger funeral when he died in the 60s (I think).
