a few points

Two points about Anthony Shadid piece today: 1) he should have mentioned that Antoine Zahrah is a member of the Lebanese Forces bloc and that he was a militia man during the war; 2) mini-Hariri did agree to scrap the Hariri tribunal but they later broke off negotiations over the price that Hairri wanted to extract from the opposition.  So it was not about the principle it was about the price--as a vulgar analogy would have it.  Shadid is right thought: the country is split along the middle although the March 14 is losing grounds especially public opinion surveys (see the one in today's As-Safir by the respected (by me) Duwaliyyah lil-ma`lumat) do indicate decline in the credibility of the court especially after the revelations in the New TV's leaks.
