Another Betrayal by Hizbullah. For several weeks, sources close to the leftist candidate (in the Beirut by-election), Ibrahim Halabi, have been saying that Hizbullah will support them secretively and quietly. I have been telling everybody that Hizbullah will not lift a finger and will abandon that candidate. Today, my sister spoke to Ibrahim Halabi and he told her that Hizbullah totally abandoned him, and that he received no support from them, his expectation notwithstanding. This is so typical of Hizbullah: to abandon leftists and secular Arab nationalist candidates in Lebanon. Hizbulalh is only loyal their allies if they are sectarian (like Hizbullah): they were solidly loyal to Jumblat and Hariri for example in the 2005 election.
