"The U.S. State Department has said that Lebanon is a destination country for trafficking in persons and criticized the government for not complying with minimum standards for the elimination of such acts. "Lebanon is a destination country for the trafficking of Asians and Africans for the purpose of domestic servitude and for Eastern European and Syrian women trafficked for the purpose of commercial sexual exploitation," the Department said Tuesday in its 2007 Trafficking in Persons Report."
