An retired US general who is a military expert for Fox News was saying this morning that the spate of massive bombings in Iraq is an indication and proof that the surge is working. "The terrorists are being pushed out," he said. So if bombings increase, it means that Bush's surge is working; and if the bombings decrease, it also means that the surge is working. So how could the president's policies ever fail by this (il)logic? So in other words, he is "making progress" no matter what.
