"On “Today” on Tuesday, Meredith Vieira somewhat tactlessly asked Mr. Williams via satellite, “Have you spoken to any Iraqi people yourself?” Mr. Williams explained why not. “The notion of dismounting, getting out of an armored vehicle and walking around and talking to Iraqis is still more or less a dangerous business,” he said."
Notice that according to the New York Times it is tactless to ask a reporter whether he has talked to the natives that he is generalizing about (he "reported" from Baghdad this week that Iraqis want US occupation troops to stay--which is contrary to public opinion surveys of Iraqis).
