My verdict thus far on Aljazeera English. It succeeds. I mean, those who were behind the effort, wanted a channel that does not feel or sound Arab. It does not. They wanted a news channel that does not reflect Arab sensibilities--whatever they are. Still, it is better than CNN International. But why have a channel from the Arab world that has little of the Arab world to show for?
