I never liked, and don't like, Jalal Talbani. I am just not a fan of tribal chiefs who perpetuate traditional sexist and reactionary standards. Furthermore, he has caused the death and injury of thousands of innocent Kurds in his fights with the Barzani camp in the 1990s. And don't forget that Talbani has kissed and hugged Saddam much more than Galloway has, and even after the Halabjah massacre. But you will not hear that. But watching his interview on AlArabiyya--a combination of softballs--, I could not help but think of this: this Kurdish leader has a better command of the Arabic language than the leaders of those Arab countries: Lebanon, Jordan, UAE, Oman, Morocco, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia among others.
