lies and fabrications of Liz Sly on Syria; her distortion of Bashshar's speech

Here is the account of Liz Sly on Bashshar's speech:  "“Many didn’t carry weapons, but they are as dangerous as terrorists,” he added, in a reference to the democracy activists, most of whom are in prison or in exile."  Here is my translation of the section of the speech that she cites:  "People are present to serve others and to benefit from public service, whether one is an employee or any person who works in public service or charity organizations.  So without ethics there will not be a national feeling in our consciousness and public service will lose its meaning, and we then become selfish human beings where each will service himself at the expense of others.  And this is what we saw widely in this crisis.  Many have not carried weapons but they played with food of the people and gambled with their future and embezzled, blackmailed, and stole, and were like the terrorists in their danger".  Furthermore, she maintained:  "His triumphalist speech, however, contained no hint of a willingness to compromise with his political opponents".  That is also a lie and a fabrication because he did mention that the government is like a mother and that even those who formerly fought with "the terrorists" can join the ranks of the state and he talked about negotiations and dialogue and such.  You hate to defend the likes of Bashshar but the lies and fabrications are just too much sometimes especially by vulgar propagandists, which is what Liz Sly has been about Syria.  As you remember there was a similar deliberate distortion in the New York Times this week in reporting about the speech of Khalid Mish`al.  So when it comes to news about foes of the US and Israel, you should never ever trust the reporting of Western media and assume that they are casually capable of distorting and fabricating if this serves the interest of Israel and its allies.
