I reported to you early on about the sectarian massacre by Syrian rebels in Adra. The massacres targeted Druzes and `Alawites, and the butchers called through loudspeakers on Druzes and `Alawite men to gather separate from the rest of the population. The early casualty figure was put at 90. Within a day, the Syrian Observatory gave the most unlikely figure of 12: that the rebels killed those men at random but only netted 12, for some reason. Yesterday, more information came out of Adra and the figure of 90 (at least) is confirmed. The Syrian regime for its own political reasons wants to deny the sectarian nature of the killings and its information minister denied that the killing was directed along sectarian lines.
