The official decree from the dean of College of Letters at Jordan University reads: "It is strictly forbidden for female students to sit or stand with any male student inside the building of the College of Letters, or even outside the campus of the College (the squares of the College outside) for the prevention of brawls inside the university on the one hand, and to prevent the violation of Shari`ah on the other hand as the Prophet said: ("Two people never met without Satan being there third with them") and the meaning is about a man and a woman."
