Basically, my father recently told me a story that an Egyptian friend of
the family had told *him*, when he was a little boy and she was visiting New
York around 1948. (I don't know if this was before or after the Nakba.)
Apparently she saw Zionists raising money in the streets for Israel with signs
reading "Give a Dollar to Kill an Arab." She complained to the police, but they
told her it was free speech and how they couldn't do anything about it, etc. Google turned up the slogan here, from 1956:"
