From R. "Your Bahrain correspondent posted about the Manama Dialogue. I attended it
in November 2010 with Dr... It was all pomp and circumstance, and I
crossed my fingers the whole time that there was real 'dialogue' taking place
behind closed doors because there definitely wasn't any substance in the panels
and speeches. The two key-noters that year were Hillary Clinton and King
Abdullah of Jordan... everybody got their royal egos waxed good. It was, in
fact, quite sad to hear Hillary praise Bahrain's leadership, as the Dialogue
came literally just a few days after the parliamentary elections that were
decried by the opposition. Not to mention the uprising that would break out just
three months later."
