Said Aburish

I considered writing something about Aburish.  Having read his books, I feel hesitant to recommend them.  I often tell students that they are not reliable.  He uses speculation, and rumors and just general Arab public conversations to report on various topics.  He became outspoken in his later years, but he did do business with many of the most oppressive governments including the government of Saddam Husayn.  But he is an interesting story teller.  He is not known in the Arab world because he wrote in English: I noticed that his death was not covered in the Arabic press for two reason and not one.
