When the hypocrites feign self-righteousness and hector us

"But the diplomats’ decision to cancel the award ceremony and withdraw the prize money prompted members of the jury, authors and a prominent Jewish organization, the Representative Council of Jewish Organizations of France, or CRIF, to denounce the intrusion of politics into literature."  Mixing literature and politics? Are you kidding me? Has anyone mixed politics and literature more than Zionists in the 20th century? How many boycotts and bans and censorship have they imposed?  If the recipient was a writer who supports Hamas or someone who visited Iran, those same pro-Israeli organizations would yell the loudest.  I don't know what the story is here: Arabs consider Israel a criminal state, and they believe in boycott and the lousy Arab ambassadors succumbed to public Arab pressures.  Where is the story here? Where is the controversy?  They have the right to take a stand.  How many artists and writers have been labeled anti-Semites or self-hating Jews by Zionist hoodlums around the world?  And now they want to protest at our right to exercise boycott and even protest?  And let me say this: I have not read this guy, and most Arabs don't even know who he is, but usually, when I see acclaim by the White Man around an Arab writer or musician, I suspect political motives.  His conflation of Nazism and Islamism is what clenched the deal.  Let me predict: this man is on his way to Nobel.
