Israeli experts on Arabs

I keep telling Arabs that they need to disabuse themselves of the notion that Israel knows so much about the Arab world and that Israeli experts are really well-informed.  I keep saying in Arabic that the quality of Israeli scholarship and writings on the Arab world is extremely shoddy.  Look at this about the political uses of internet in Lebanon.  It decides for example that most internet users are Sunnis.  It does not even tell us how they arrived at that figure.  They also say:  "Thanks to the full backing Nasrallah has given Assad’s regime since the beginning of the uprising in Syria, an increasing number of Shiite journalists are criticizing the Hizbollah leader’s support for the Syrian president."  But if those who wrote know anything they would have identified those Shi`ite journalists as being on the Hariri and Saudi payroll.  They are clueless--and that is a good thing.
