More on Christians in Syria

"Ibn Rushd" sent me this:  "Regarding that so-called "bishop" making outlandish claims about Syria's Christians, I got confirmation from a very high placed French clerical source that the guy (actually an archmandrite of the Antioch Church) is one of those extreme right-wing French guys who are now acting as Bashar propagandists and press attachés. He belonged to the Fraternité sacerdotale Saint Pie X, a tiny group of radical traditionalist Catholics. They are disciples of Charles Maurras and of the Royalist Action Française movement. They are way to the right of Le Pen. They are even called "sedevacantists", because they argue that the Vatican's seat is vacant (Sede vacante) because after John XXIII and the Vatican II Council, the popes have accepted modernism. They are fierce antisemites and islamophobes. So this Tournyol du Clos is a first-rate bigot, he wrote silly books about exorcisms, he also previously claimed that there was an anti-Christian genocide in Lebanon. In Syria, these extreme-right clowns also cooperate with the infamous Thierry Meyssan of the Reseau Voltaire."
