I have often mocked An-Nahar (the right-wing, sectarian Christian, racist (against the Syrian and Palestinian people in particular, not to mention the syndrome of worshiping the White Man), as they often publish articles that this Lebanese doctor or that Lebanese doctor or even this falafil vendor is about to "discover" a cure for cancer. It seems Haaretz does the same now. So I asked professor at Harvard Medical School and he wrote me: "Good research, no doubt, but at heart it is incremental, meaning that it adds
new knowledge to an existing pathway that is already under intense investigation
by many groups. Components of this cell death pathway have already been targeted
with cancer therapeutics that are currently well under development. In that
sense, they are probably blowing their achievement out of proportion to what has
been done. Would it lead to a new type of cancer treatment? Hundreds of such
papers make similar claims, and chances are it will not."
