I read this report by Human Rights Watch. I noted (to one of its directors) those points:
1) Human Rights Watch is exhibiting a missionary zeal on Syria that we never EVER witnessed about Palestine.
2) HRW did not notice the ship of arms to Syrian rebels which was caught off the Lebanese coast, nor the hundreds of cases of arm smuggling from Lebanon to Syria.
3) HRW has not reported on the attacks on the Syrian workers in Lebanon in recent weeks which led to a flight of thousands of workers back into Syria (maybe some 30,000 left already, according to press reports but international organizations won't bother because the flight is back to Syria.
4) HRW has not yet reported about the kidnapping of Lebanese pilgrims by gangs loyal to the Free Syrian Army. One HRW source told me that the organization does not have evidence of exile opposition's complicity. I said: various exile opposition organizations and personalities openly talked about contacts with the captors, and one major opposition figure, Haytham Al-Malih, openly called on the captors to not release the innocent hostages but HRW has not noticed any of that. It would not be fair to say that HRW works always in tandem with US foreign policy objectives.
5) HRW would never EVER dare call for arms embargo against Israel.
