Mubarak holdover

What is boring about ignorant US media is that they use the same language of US government propaganda on foreign policy.  The marching orders were issued: that what is happening in Egypt regarding US NGOs is purely the work of a "Mubarak holdover"--never mind that this same Mubarak was an American stooge who was showered with praise for decades.  So this from Thomas Friedman:  " Yet the priority of a few retrograde Mubarak holdovers".  Yet, few lines later he said:  "As a former Mubarak adviser put it to me."  So Friedman criticizes Abul Naga for being a "Mubarak holdover" and yet receives his wisdom from a "Mubarak adviser."
